Since 2020, the number of school-aged children in the United States, who cannot read, write, or effectively communicate on grade level has risen dramatically. Many have attributed various causes including the ease of access to social media, the massive barrage of entertainment, the widespread availability of new & diverse children's programming, and the change from broadcasting to streaming, which has moved away from a professional network based central programming format to a personalized sensational-entertainment purpose, often overshadowing the educational component for age specific programming. Thus, at-home entertainment can became a major source for misinformation for children, where the use of cellphones, tablets, and television has been a "live parenting" substitute tool instead of an educational tool.  Due to the massive amount of content available, it is more essential today, to curate the type of content being consumed. It is vital that children receive quality age appropriate programming and entertainment to fill knowledge gaps, to ward off disinformation, misinformation, miseducation, harmful ideas, negative images, and enticing narratives designed for non-age specific entertainment and can lead children down dangerous paths of thinking. The following list is a Parent's Guide in the age of Streaming, to quality programming for children. This article will be a fluid document, undergoing constant changes and updates periodically.

Screen Time Warning:

The amount of time children are watching the screens must be monitored to reduce the strain on the eyes and to increase comprehension. Excessive screen time can be addictive, negative for the eyesight, and expose children to age inappropriate material, which can entice their natural curiosity, but give them ideas, you may not be comfortable with your children having. Alternatively, proper screen time can promote healthy learning, skills, and compliment your educational goals for your child.

What Happened in Zaire? The Great War of Africa in the Congo

"As long as Africans do not unite to bring down the borders, and as long as they do not decide to break with the colonialism system, we will forever be subjugated -Kwame Nkrumah Pan Africanist."

Disclaimer: "The conflict in the Congo is an intergenerational complex struggle between tribes, regions, international agents, banks, weapons & artillery producers, MONUSCO, the Belgians, Burundi, and hidden combatants. Now considered the largest war since World War II. It is critical before forming an opinion, to study the conflict well. To not side with the loudest, but to hear the story of all, from the beginning to the present. Only then, can one see the solution of true consideration and negotiation to resolve this conflict. - Cowan Amaye-Obu."

In the last 31 years, Eastern Asia, Western Europe including the United States, South America, and Australia has experienced an explosion in informational technology. Cell phones, once a luxury of the rich, became the popular gadget of the common family in the early 2000s. Flat screen televisions replaced the heavy and bulky television sets taking up half the living room space. A revolution in extremely powerful batteries, made battery-powered electric vehicles possible for the first time. Technology for the Space Age, "Wifi (wireless networking)," replaced physical lines, and satellites were launched by the hundreds. An entire informational technology structure and industry was built. However, amid Australia's genius wireless wifi contribution, DVR magical ability to rewind live television programs, and the lining of the entire world with telecommunication from the ocean floor to low Earth orbit, lay a vital conflict, supplying the raw materials for Apple & Samsung to create your coveted I-Phone & Android cellphones; for NASA, ESA (European Space Agency), and private Space Companies like Space X, to launch Spacecraft & vehicles operational for decades to come; and for the entire recent informational technology structure to exist. The conflict that began with the Rwanda Tutsi Genocide of over one million men, women, and children, has continued for 31 years. For 31 years, the Congo, has been systematically looted supplying the necessary materials for the Informational Technology Structure, the recent Space Age, the battery revolution, and the luxury gold and diamond trade. So what happened to create the Great War of Africa? What happened to Zaire? What happened in Rwanda and why has it continued without ceasing for 31 years? It is essential to understand the entire conflict, the players, and the developments before making sound judgement. Watch & study the videoes below, particularly the recent footage from Kigali & Goma, to catch a quick study! Perspective, agenda, and identity matters.

Quotes from the Documentary:
"Africans hold on to the principles of imperialism. They've thrown away U'no & Ubunto, in order to be divisive and tribalist."

"If you want to beat Imperialism, you have no choice but to break down the borders."

Study well, friends and family!
